Share Your Christmas Tree With Us
For fourteen years Wombourne village has held its annual Christmas Tree Festival at the Wombourne United Reformed Church venue. Over time the festival has evolved until, in recent years, it has run in mid-December with a varied timetable of events. Approximately sixty village organisations have provided decorated Christmas trees throughout the church, the Allen Hall and the meeting room. The festival is open to all, with free admission to the public and with the trees in no competition save for the general public discussing their preference. The inborn competitive nature of the contributors has ensured that the standard over the years has risen markedly.
Over the years the festival has raised thousands of pounds for charities of all kinds, mainly in the local area. We would like to continue this tradition and would ask you if you wish to donate to go to the ‘JustGiving’ link on the website or to choose a charity which you would prefer to support.
Although in 2020 this virtual festival has replaced the traditional one, it is hoped that when times return to what used to be normal, both original and virtual festivals might run side by side. Please upload a Christmas tree photo if you wish, or otherwise feel free to explore the site, looking at trees past and present and listening to some of our seasonal music.
This event wouldn’t be possible if not for the hard work of the organisers and those who have contributed. We also want to take a moment to thank and pay tribute to John Bowler, who sadly passed away earlier this year.
We wish you all a safe, happy and healthy Christmas.
We would like to thank everyone who has contributed to the Christmas Tree Festival in its original form in the past or in its new digital form. We hope you will have as much enjoyment from looking at the trees on this website as you did in previous years meandering around the festival. We hope and pray that you all have a happy, healthy and peaceful Christmas and that next year the festival will be both traditional and digital.
The memory tree is back! This year it will be placed in Walkers Way. To find out more and see the location on the map click below
We have created some fun kid friendly activities for you to download and complete over Christmas. You can download them here
Each year we raise money during the Christmas Tree Festival for local charities. This year we are collaborating with Wombourne and District Community Association. They provide grants to local community groups to foster social and community activity. To learn more about what they do or to donate follow the Just Giving link below.
